DECS Designated Programs The Department of Education and Children Services (DECS) of South Australia identified four Special Interest Music Centres in the 1970's and two Special Interest Tennis Programs in the 1990's in South Australian schools. These centres enable students gifted in these areas to develop skills and expertise to a level of excellence with resource support. As many of these students also have high intellectual potential a school program across all learning areas meets the needs of both these students and the many others who are attracted to the SHIP program.
