Services: Pastoral Care Worker

As part of the counselling team the school enjoys the support of the local inter-church council in the form of a Pastoral Care Workeron site to provide a Christian presence, a resource and a counselling service.

What Pastoral Care Workers Do:

How Chaplains spend their time varies depending on the school in which they are based, as well as their own abilities and interests. It is also important they are aware of the particular needs of students.

Some common tasks involve…

• Coordinating weekly meeting and activities
• Being available as a listener
• Helping Christian students understand the Bible
• Praying with or for the students
• Arranging Christian Option Seminars
• Providing support for families in times of need
• Resourcing and referring
• Working with local churches
