House System

The houses provide organisational units for inter-sport activities. The houses honour four people who were prominent in the local community or the state: actor, Dame Judith Anderson; painter, Sir Hans Heysen; judge and former governor of SA, Dame Roma Mitchell; and founder of Woodroofe Bottlers, William Woodroofe.

In years 8-10, students are organised into houses, each consisting of approximately 250 students. The house system creates smaller communities within the school and gives students a greater sense of "belonging".

A house consists of home groups across years 8-10. The house coordinator works with those home group teachers to closely monitor the academic progress, social development and well-being of students.

Students are allocated into houses at the beginning of year 8 and attend house camps held in the first few weeks of school. This enables teachers and students to build a close relationship and sets a firm foundation for pastoral care.

Houses compete on Sports Day and in other sporting activities run from time to time during the year.
