Introduction
A leader in International Study Programs, Marryatville High School was accredited in 2003 by the Council of International Schools (CIS). This means that Marryatville High School has met the rigorous standards of global international education.
Marryatville High School is committed to promoting educational excellence in its International Student Program. 90% of Year 12 students at Marryatville High School achieve University entrance.
There are 103 International students studying at Marryatville High School. These students come from many different countries, such as Brazil, China, Germany, Japan, Korea, Vietnam and Thailand. All these students have different aspirations and needs. It is the aim of Marryatville High School to ensure that these individual needs are met, as well as giving appropriate support to our International students to ensure that they are successful.

International Programs
Marryatville High School has a highly regarded international program
The school enrols students into a number of programs designed for students from overseas. These include::
Intensive Secondary English Course:
This course is provided for students who need to increase their English language proficiency before entering a high school program.
- Courses are available in 10, 20, 30 and 40 week modules.
- Students are accepted for the course according to their level of educational achievement in their home country and their English language proficiency.
These courses enable students to:
- Develop both oral and written communication skills.
- Increase their knowledge of Australian culture.
- Develop skills for living and studying in Australia.
High School Program – Years 8 – 12
- Secondary courses are offered from Years 8 – 12
- The Middle School Years, 8 – 10, provides a curriculum which is broad and balanced preparing students for effective participation in Australian society.
- Senior Secondary Education Years, 11 – 12, is available to students who can choose a wide range of subjects to complete a South Australian Certificate of Education over two years.
Study Aboard Program
- This program provides an Australian cultural experience of studying in a high school and living in a homestay with an Australian family.
- A range of options are available to students depending on their English proficiency and the purpose of their study.
- A certificate is issued by the school at the satisfactory completion of the program.
Short Term Study Tours
- These programs are offered for 1 – 4 weeks.
- The educational program can be arranged to meet the requirements of the group.
- The visits usually include intensive English study in the morning and school integration in the afternoon.
- The program may include half day or full day excursions or other special interest activities.
- The cultural experience is further enhanced by the provision of homestay accommodation with carefully selected host families.
- A member of the host family, who is usually a student of the host school, is matched with each visiting student on a “buddy” system.
- The buddy system assists the visiting student in moving around the school and understanding the school routine and expectations.
- Buddy and visiting students also travel to and from school together.
Teacher Professional Development
Marryatville High School successfully runs professional development programs for International leaders and educators.

Marryatville High School has a comprehensive curriculum, which caters for a variety of interests and abilities.
