The Visiting Team commends:

A - Philosophy and Objectives
A1 The Governing Council, school administration, staff, students and parents for their strong shared sense of pride in and commitment to the school.

A2 The school for its commitment to excellence.

B - Organisation and Administration
B1 The Governing Council for its dedication and commitment in providing direction and governance to the school.

B2 The Principal for developing and maintaining a very productive relationship with the Governing Council and the District Superintendent.

G - Secondary Programme
G1 The staff for inspiring in students the culture of learning and high academic standards.

G2 The students for their commitment to reaching for their personal best.

G3 The school for supporting Special Interest Music and Tennis programmes.

G9.1 The SIMC faculty for their dedicated and enthusiastic approach towards the continuing curriculum development and documentation of the programme.

G9.2 The SIMC faculty for the provision of a programme that provides a strong foundation for students, with a breadth of performance and ensemble classroom and extra-curricular (across year levels) opportunities for students in years 8-12.

G12.1 The ESL Department for their extensive commitment to the teaching of ESL, particularly the well developed curriculum that employs a broad range of teaching strategies and assessment techniques.

I - Guidance Services
I3 The counselling staff and the students for their work in, and the production of documents for, improving peer relations.

I4 The Student Representative Council for encouraging Peer Support.

N - School Facilities
N1 The school for creating and maintaining aesthetically pleasing campuses that enhance the learning environment and create a sense of pride amongst the community.

The Visiting Team recommends that:

A - Philosophy and Objectives
A1 The school reflect the concept of internationalism and global perspectives within its philosophy statement.

A2 The school develop a common articulation of the philosophy statement.

B - Organisation and Administration
B2 The school articulate and institutionalise strategic documents thus creating ownership of them.

G - Secondary Programme
G1 The school, through the Curriculum Action Team, develop a wider shared view of the total curriculum including Essential Learnings and a centralised curriculum document.

G2 The school develop a deeper awareness of global, cultural and social issues within the curriculum.

G5 The teaching staff enhance its repertoire of teaching methodologies in order to maximise the effectiveness of teaching time and learning opportunities for all students.

H - Special Needs Education
H1 The school explore ways for Guidance, Special Needs, Year Co-ordination and Counselling staff to collaborate in their work, in order to serve better the students' needs.

J - Health Services and Safety
J1 The school make the writing of an ingress evacuation plan a priority.

N - School Facilities
N2 The Governing Council and Principal continue, as a priority item, to procure the remaining funds for the Performing Arts Centre.

O - Finances and Financial Management
O1 The School devise a medium to long-term strategic financial plan.

O2 The School develop a central asset register to improve planning for asset management and replacement.

P - Assessment of Student Learning and Performance
P1 The school encourage a co-ordinated approach to the shared analysis of student achievement data between leaders with responsibility for guidance, special needs, year level co-ordinating and counselling.
