Visit to Shenzhen and Hong Kong.

In July 2002, Sarah Goldfain and Philip Wilson visited two schools in the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone, Guangdong Province,China.Sarah is the ESL and International Students Coordinator. Philip is a teacher of Chinese.

They visited the Shenzhen Middle School and the Nanshan Affiliated Middle School of Beijing University. The purpose of the visit was to build the
relationships between the schools and to provide inservice to teachers of English about language teaching methods in South Australia

The visit was well received by the Chinese hosts who completed evaluations of the activities very favourably.

After the visit to the schools, Sarah and Philip participated in an SA Education Department marketing activity at the IDP Education Fair which was
held at the Hong Kong Convention Centre. Here they spoke with parents and
prospective students about education in SA and in particular at Marryatville High School. They assisted people in completing application forms and with general enquiries about life in SA
