Year
Levels: Middle School
Years 8 and 9
Students are offered a broad ranging curriculum, whether enrolling at the
school as part of the normal or part of the special interest music or special
interest tennis entry.
Students in the normal entry are able to take advantage of the special interest
facilities and choose music amongst their subjects.
In all subjects, learning activities are provided to cater for the full
range of student abilities, including SHIP (students with high intellectual
potential).
Year 10
The Year 10 curriculum consists of a compulsory core of subjects and a range
of choice subjects open to the normal and to the special interest entry
students.
There is also the facility for students to undertake SACE subjects where
appropriate to their needs.
Additionally, learning activities in every subject are designed to cater
for the range of abilities and learning styles, including the specially
gifted, and a Theory of Education unit is offered to further extend students.
Senior School
In the Senior school,
students undertake the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE)
typically over the two years of Year 11 and 12.
For various reasons, including part time study, some students complete
the SACE over three years.
Students undertaking the SACE are bound by rules and regulations relating
to patterns of subjects studied determined on a state wide basis by SSABSA,
and also need to take into account the specific requirements of the different
Tertiary institutions when making their subject selections.
Students are counselled individually and in consultation with their carers
during year 10 and 11 and 12 to ensure that their subject choices keep
open all realistic options for their future.
