Learning Areas

Eight learning areas are recognised as part of the SACSA Framework

English:

Languages: The basis of learning is language. This is strongly developed through programs in English, Japanese, French or Chinese.

The Arts: This school is sought out for the performing and visual Arts programs with a record of success among graduates in these areas - NIDA, Conservatoria of universities around Australia, Centre for Performing Arts, Design Courses and Film-making.

Technology: Skills are developed, through a range of studies in Electronics, Technology Studies including Electronics and through the use of Information Technology in each learning area as well as a separate subject that pervades all organisations. Information Technology is a persuasive force that will change education as we know it.

Health and Physical Education: Health issues are modelled through canteen food, anti-drug policy and education programs at each year level. Health is taught as a subject in Years 8 and 9. Physical Education programs encourage skill development and involvement in co-curriculum sporting competitions.

Mathematics: Mathematicians instil a love of this discipline and the associated skills.

Science:

Studies of Society and Environment: This learning area enables students to understand their own political and social structures while also gaining a global view.
