Camps/Induction Days

Camping and related activities are seen as an integral part of the curriculum at Marryatville High.

Induction Programs
The last 3 days of Week 2 all students will participate in a 3 day induction program, which is aimed at strengthening Home group teacher/student and student/student relationships as well as preparation for the year.

  • Year 8 Induction
    Structured activities at Burnside Pool
    Visit and structured activities at the Adelaide Zoo and Botanic Gardens
    Life be in it activities
    School based activities including inservicing in the school's Harassment Policy

  • Year 9 Induction
    A motivational speaker with an International focus
    A series of extension activities based around the 4 core Learning areas
    Water activities at Burnside Pool
    A Mini Olympics

  • Year 9 Aquatics Camp
    As part of the schools commitment to Outdoor Education all year 9 students have the opportunity to participate in one of a series of Aquatics Camps to be held at Swanport Centre, Murray Bridge in Weeks 2 and 3 of term 2.
    As this is an Aquatics camp most of the days will be spent doing a variety of water-based activities supervised by qualified instructors with support from school staff. Life jackets are provided and it is compulsory for them to be worn. When necessary, wetsuits will be provided.

  • Year 10 Induction
    The Police Driver Education team and associated activities
    Time for students to gain the Information Technology Certificate
    Inservice in to the Transition Portfolio
    BBQ and fun activities


  • Year 10 Ski Trip/Rockclimbing
    Year 10 camps are special opportunities to develop skiing or rock-climbing skills, limited to those accepted for the two camps. These camps run in the Victorian snow fields and at Mt. Arapiles.

  • Year 11 Seminar
    Year 11 Seminar involves all year 11 students and introduces them to vital elements of their SACE Studies, including motivation, SACE information, study skills, exam preparation and group skills. Costs cover materials, speaker and lunch on one day.

  • Year 11 Extra Subjects - Vocational Education training
    Any Year 11 students undertaking the following VET subjects (e.g. Hospitality, Retail, Music (Sound) Electronics, Work Education) are required to pay $40.00 to cover training books, excursions, work placement arrangements and assessment materials.

  • Year 12 Camp
    Year 12 camp, held at the beginning of the final year of schooling, develops a focus of study and expectations for the year. Work on careers, stress and study management and expectations from previous students as well as social and fitness activities begin this year in a very positive way. This camp is run at Tatachilla.
This school has camping, tour and excursion opportunities. The school reserves the right to refuse permission for a student to attend such an activity if that student has demonstrated an inability to observe school rules or behaviour code. If, on any such activity beyond the school, a student does not fulfil the expectations set out, the school reserves the right to send the student home at parents' expense.
